Sunrise Ray Radiant Sword, Gurguit

Gurguit returns as a G unit with the <<Gold Paladin>> keyword ability, Unite!

As long as you have called 2 or more units to the field this turn, you can use this card’s ability to give it +5000 power for each rear-guard on the field! As if that wasn’t enough, it also gives up to 5 of your rear-guards an additional 5000 power as well! Assuming you have a full field of 5 rear-guards, Sunrise Ray Radiant Sword, Gurguit will gain 25000 power in total! The maximum net gain in power for the whole field here is 50000 – that’s 10 triggers worth of power!

Supreme Heavenly Emperor Dragon, Dragonic Blademaster “Taiten”

Dragonic Blademaster has also evolved! With this new form, the player can potentially retire up to 3 of the opponent’s rear-guards with a single use of its effect! It’s a simple, no frills effect that helps to trigger the Blaze ability, giving it +1 Critical to further pressure the opponent! Do take note, though; the ability that gives your vanguard +1 Critical is a Continuous ability, your vanguard cannot repeatedly become “Blazing”, so you can only gain 1 Critical if your vanguard is Blazing.

Wings of Reincarnation, Blade Wing Reijy

Blade Wing Reijy gains a new form with new abilities the complement the previous “Blade Wing” support! When you attack with Wings of Reincarnation, Blade Wing Reijy, you can pay the cost to gain a whopping 15000 power and 2 Critical! The cost for this ability is rather hefty, but it makes for a great finisher especially with its second ability! When it is in the soul and your attack with a “Blade Wing” vanguard does not hit the opponent, if your vanguard is not Wings of Reincarnation, Blade Wing Reijy, you can pay the cost to ride a Wings of Reincarnation, Blade Wing Reijy from your soul in Stand for a second attack!

Highbrow Steam, Raphanna

Highbrow Steam, Raphanna is a G guardian that can gain a bonus 10000 shield for a total of 25000 shield! As can be expected, there is a slight catch; you have to choose a grade 1 or above card and switch it with a grade 0 card from your deck, reducing the strength of your field. Gear can work around this issue, though, as time leap essentially bypasses the problem and can simply superior call units to the field with the grade 0 unit as a catalyst. You can even use this effect to end an attack right there and then – if your opponent attacks your rear-guard, you can use this to send the unit being attacked back to the deck. Since the attack target is lost, the battle ends there!

Cosmic Hero, Grandrevolver

Cosmic Hero, Grandrevolver

Cosmic Hero, Grandrevolver’s Burst ability can give itself and another rear-guard +4000 power if your vanguard has at least 15000 power, and also gains an additional ability to Counter Charge 2 if your vanguard has at least 30000 power! After you Stride, your vanguard will already have around 26000 power, and if you Stride over Great Cosmic Hero, Grandgallop, the condition will be easily fulfilled! Use this ability to trigger other effects, such as Cosmic Hero, Grandsub, Cosmic Hero, Grandchopper and Cosmic Hero, Grandseed!

And that’s it for today’s preview! If you’ve noticed, we haven’t included one of the clans featured in GBT07 in this preview yet – we’re saving it for a different article, so do look out for it!
