World Column - A Commentary! On the History of Planet Cray
    Chapter 03

Progenitor Era – The Origin of Deityhood: “Cray’s Idea”, and the Birth of Life

    中村聡

    ◆The Planet Known as “Cray”

From the boundless “Void” that embraced all possibilities, a new world emerged, choosing a single “Destiny”. However, this nascent world was highly unstable. Fissures permeated every corner, and an impending sense of doom lingered constantly, where dissolving back into the Void seemed imminent.

Then, around 16 billion years ago, a planet named “Cray” was born into this world.

For this world, Planet Cray held great significance. The power to manifest the chosen “Destiny”, known as the “Design Force”, began to concentrate on this planet. Eventually, the energy surpassed its critical point, giving rise to an entity with a sole intent called “Cray’s Idea”.

“Cray’s Idea” transmuted and morphed its form countless times throughout Planet Cray’s history. These transformed embodiments, possessing distinct natures in different eras, are referred to as “Deities” (※)—transcendent entities that shape history.

(※) Some representative Deities that commonly appear in records include “Genesis Dragon, Messiah” and “Holy Guardian Dragon”.

    ◆Cray Elementals

About 14 billion years ago, approximately 2 billion years after the emergence of “Cray’s Idea”, the Design Force introduced various natural laws to guide the world towards its intended state. The sprites overseeing these natural laws became the first inhabitants of Planet Cray, the “Cray Elementals”.

The advent of natural laws brought great tidings to Planet Cray and the world as a whole. The first was the birth of primordial life. The second was stability within the world. Thanks to these fortunes, the fissures of the Void finally vanished from the world, and this newborn world overcame its first crisis.

Then, all kinds of lifeforms began to evolve on Planet Cray, leading to the appearance of the very first “Nations” and “Clans” in history. Let’s dive into that in the next chapter.
