Question about “Imaginary Gift”
- What is “Imaginary Gift”?
-
When you ride a unit with a “Gift Icon”, you acquire an “Imaginary Gift” according to the icon on that unit. This represented by using a “Gift Marker” during a cardfight.
Each type of “Imaginary Gift” has different effects.
- Where should “Imaginary Gifts” be placed before they are used in a game?
- There is no such zone as a ‘Gift Zone’. Please place unused gifts in a different area from your main deck, drop zone, damage zone, circles, and other zones of the game.
- What happens when I acquire an “Imaginary Gift”?
-
Force: Specify your vanguard circle or one of your rear-guard circles, and the unit on that circle gets Power +10000 continuously during your turn. You can select the same circle multiple times, so the unit on a circle with 2 ‘force’ will get Power +20000. Please mark the circles with ‘force’ by placing a “Gift Marker” on them.
Accel: Add a rear-guard circle to the left of your leftmost front row rear-guard circle, such that it is now the leftmost front row rear-guard circle, and the unit on that circle gets Power +10000 continuously during your turn. The 2nd time you gain ‘accel’, add a rear-guard circle to the right of your rightmost front row rear-guard circle, such that it is now the rightmost front row rear-guard circle. Add the 3rd to the left, and the 4th to the right, and so on and so forth. The power gained by all of these circles is not cumulative, and is +10000 for them all. The relation between the circles is as is seen, with the circle gained on your right and the circle gained on your opponent’s left considered to be in ‘the same column’.
Protect: Add an “Imaginary Gift: Protect” “Gift Marker” to your hand. This “Gift Marker” is not a unit, but it is a card, it is in your hand, and it is a sentinel. When its information must be referenced, such as when it is discarded for a ‘draw cards equal to the grade of the discarded card’ effect, it is treated as ‘0’. As it is a card in your hand, it can be used for costs such as ‘discard a card from your hand’.
- Is the number of “Gift Markers”, and the type of “Gift Marker” being used public information?
- You do not need to reveal the number of “Gift Markers” you have. Similarly, you do not have to reveal information about your “Imaginary Gifts” before they are acquired. However, after acquiring a gift for the first time, you cannot acquire gifts of other types. For example, you cannot acquire ‘force’,’accel’,’protect’ in an Extreme Fight format.
- How many “Imaginary Gifts” should be used in a game? Is there any restriction on the number I prepare before a game?
- There is no restriction. Please prepare the number of pieces you will need before the game.
- Can I use sleeves for my “Imaginary Gifts”?
- Yes, you may use sleeves for your “Imaginary Gifts”.
- Must I use the same sleeves for my “Imaginary Gifts” and my main deck?
- If you use sleeves for your “Imaginary Gifts”, they must be different from those you use for your main deck.
- Can I use “Imaginary Gifts” with cards from my G zone?
- Yes, you may do so.
- When I am using an “Imaginary Gift”, and I do not have a gift marker prepared, can I still use the ability? What happens when I do not have sufficient gift markers prepared?
- You will still acquire the “Imaginary Gift”. However, you will receive a penalty in Level 2 or higher tournaments.
- If a vanguard with “Imaginary Gift” is retired, do I lose a “Gift Marker”?
- No, even if your vanguard leaves the field from some effect, you will not lose a “Gift Marker”.
- Must I resolve an “Imaginary Gift” effect that has fulfilled its conditions for resolving?
- Yes, if you ride a unit with a “Gift Icon” and you can acquire an “Imaginary Gift”, you must acquire it.
- I ride from a unit with “Imaginary Gift” to a unit without it. Do I lose the “Imaginary Gifts” I had acquired until then?
- No, you do not.
- What order should the “Imaginary Gift” effect activated from riding, and the resolution of a unit’s automatic ability with a “when placed” requirement, be performed? (LB4 + Imaginary Gift)
- You will acquire the “Imaginary Gift” before resolving “when placed” automatic abilities. Acquiring a “Gift Marker” is not an automatic ability, but a special action.
Questions about “Imaginary Gift: Force”
- My rear-guard’s power is increased by the effect of “Imaginary Gift: Force”. Does that rear-guard’s automatic ability with a “when this unit’s power is increased due to the effect of your card” requirement activate?
- No, it does not. The increase from force and accel is not ‘due to the effect of a card’.
- Does an effect that removes all cards from a circle remove “Imaginary Gift: Force”? (‘Neon Gyze’)
- No, it does not.
- If I keep moving a rear-guard between a circle with “Imaginary Gift: Force” and a circle that does not, does it keep gaining Power +10000 to get Power +20000, +30000…?
- No, it does not. A circle with “Imaginary Gift: Force” only gives the unit on that circle Power +10000 during your turn. The power gained does not persist if it is moved.
- I specify a vanguard circle with a vanguard in the legion state for “Imaginary Gift: Force”. What is the power increase for the vanguard in the legion state?
- The Legion Leader and the Legion Mate both gain +10000 for that circle’s master’s turn.
- The rear-guard on a circle specified by “Imaginary Gift: Force”, or on a circle gained with “Imaginary Gift: Accel”, is dominated. Does the dominated unit get Power +10000?
- No, it does not get Power +10000. If a dominated unit is on a circle specified by “Imaginary Gift: Force”, or on a circle gained with “Imaginary Gift: Accel”, the changes applied by the circle are not applied.
Questions about “Imaginary Gift: Accel”
- Is the unit on a circle gained with “Imaginary Gift: Accel” considered a rear-guard?
- Yes, it is a rear-guard. The circle gained with “Imaginary Gift: Accel” is a rear-guard circle.
- Can the unit on a circle gained with “Imaginary Gift: Accel” be retired by a “choose a rear-guard, and retire it” effect? (or moved to the hand or another zone)
- Yes, it can. It can be affected by effects like lock or returning to hand, it can intercept, and as it is in the front row, it can be attacked by an opponent’s unit. Even if the rear-guard on that circle should leave the circle, the circle will remain.
Questions about “Imaginary Gift: Protect”
- When “Imaginary Gift: Protect” is added to my hand, must it be differentiated from my other cards?
- Yes, it must.
- What happens after I use “Imaginary Gift: Protect”?
- If “Imaginary Gift: Protect” is in a zone other than your hand or the guardian circle, it will be removed due to rule action. Resolutions such as the retiring of guardians is performed as normal.
- When the card (“Gift Marker”) created with “Imaginary Gift: Protect” is removed, is it placed outside of the game as a removed card, with its information public for the duration of that game?
If it is not, can I use the card (“Gift Marker”) created with “Imaginary Gift: Protect” that was removed as the card (“Gift Marker”) created when I acquire a new “Imaginary Gift: Protect”? - No, the information of the removed “Gift Marker” is not public. “Gift Markers” are aid items that are used to mark the resolution of ‘imaginary gift icons’. They are not part of the game, and do not exist within the game in a ‘Gift Marker Zone’. As an aid item that are not part of the game, there is no need to differentiate between those that have been used and those that are yet to be used, or to manage the card after it has been removed from the game. Thus, a “Gift Marker” that had been removed from the game can be used again for the resolution of acquiring “Imaginary Gift: Protect”.
- Can “Imaginary Gift: Protect” be called as a guardian for an attack by a unit with a ‘cannot guard’ skill?
- It is affected by guard restrictions. For example, it can be called if the skill is ‘cannot call grade 0’ as it has no grade, but it cannot be called if the skill is ‘cannot call sentinels’ or ‘can only call trigger units’.
- When an effect like the “choose a card at random from your opponent’s hand” effect of ‘Stealth Rogue of Night Fog, Miyabi’ resolves, and my opponent has a card created by “Imaginary Gift: Protect” in his or her hand, as the sleeve of the card created by “Imaginary Gift: Protect” is different from the main deck’s, how should a card be chosen at random from hand?
- Please choose a card in a manner in which that card cannot be identified. When choices are to be made at random, please have both fighters agree on the process before proceeding.
- Can the card created by “Imaginary Gift: Protect” be chosen and called for an effect like the “your opponent chooses two cards from his or her hand, calls them to separate RC” effect of “Evil-eye Vidya Emperor, Shiranui “Rinne””?
- It can be chosen, but it will not be called.
- Can the card created by “Imaginary Gift: Protect” be chosen and put as a locked card for an effect like the “your opponent chooses two cards from his or her hand, and puts them on separate RC as locked cards” effect of “Death Star-vader, Chaos Breaker Deluge”?
-
Yes, the card created by “Imaginary Gift: Protect” can be chosen and put as a locked card.
However, when the card created by “Imaginary Gift: Protect” moves to a zone other than the hand or guardian circle, it will be removed from that zone immediately after moving, without waiting for a check timing.
