Preview! Transcension of Blade and Blossom

Just one more week to the actual release of G Booster Pack Vol. 6: Transcension of Blade and Blossom! Are you guys taking part in the sneak preview event today?

Here’s a quick peek at some of the cards that you’ll be getting really soon!

Transcending the Heavens, Altmile

This new Altmile stays true to the ≪Royal Paladin≫ style of play with an effect that both reinforces your field, and boosts their power as well. Units gain power for each face-up copy of Aerial Divine Knight, Altmile in the G zone, so do remember to include it as a part of your G deck! Aerial Divine Knight, Altmile can be found in G Booster Pack Vol. 4: Soul Strike Against The Supreme.

Exxtreme Battler, Danshark

Introducing the new Rush mechanic! Rush denotes abilities that trigger when that unit is put to Stand by your effects (including trigger effects!). As a rear-guard, Danshark’s ability allows you to pressure your opponent with an on-hit effect that can retire one of your opponent’s rear-guards! When you ride Danshark, you get to search the top 5 cards of your deck for another card with the rush ability, and add it to your hand. Quite a handy card!

Mist Phantasm Pirate King, Nightrose

The one everyone’s been waiting for since the release of G Trial Deck Vol. 8 Vampire Princess of the Nether Hour! While Nightrose’s ability sounds simple, it helps to trigger all the hollow abilities, and can create another column for attack. They key to using this card is to make maximum use of all your resources in the drop zone!

Ideal Maiden, Thuria

One of the most interesting and powerful cards released for ≪Neo Nectar≫, Thuria single-handedly enables some of the most powerful combos released in this set. Its unique effect allows you to choose a unit on the field before Thuria enters the rear-guard circle, and is treated as a unit with the chosen unit’s name as soon as it hits the field!

≪Neo Nectar≫ gains the bloom ability, which triggers when a unit of the same name enters the field, and applies effects to all units of the same name. Coupled with cards like Greenshot Elf and Pure Maiden, Katrina, you can potentially attack with truly fearsome power numbers! It even has an ability to send itself back to your hand, so you can activate the bloom abilities again.

Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster “Diablo”

We’ve saved the best for last today, with Dark Dragon, Spectral Blaster “Diablo”. Doesn’t its name and design bring to mind another dark dragon…? Anyway, Spectral Blaster “Diablo”’s effect is split into two portions, the first of which grants it the ability to put itself to Stand after a battle. The second portion, if you have a “Diablo” heart, allows you to call a grade 1 unit onto the field, basically nullifying its cost of having to retire one of your own units. Despite losing 2 drive checks on its second attack, Spectral Blaster “Diablo” is no less formidable and can turn the tide of battle to your favour in one fell swoop.

Out of all these cards, I’d have to say my favourite is Thuria. It opens up the gates for ≪Neo Nectar≫ to finally surpass the level of power that previously could only be attained by using Sacred Tree Dragon, Jingle Flower Dragon’s effect. It also brings an old G unit, Flower Princess of Spring’s Beginning, Primavera back into prominence! Can you figure out the combo?
