Regarding the January 2025 Deck Construction Rules Update

This update to the Cardfight!! Vanguard Fighter’s Rules makes use of the results of various Bushiroad Championship Series 24/25 (BCS 24/25) Regional Qualifier tournaments.

Standard Format

While we have observed a healthy variety of ride lines being used in BCS 24/25 Regional Qualifier tournaments, there are some that have seen greater success than others.

・Cloudwater Flitfoot Stealth Rogue, Shojodoji
・Grand March of Full Bloom, Lianorn

Cloudwater Flitfoot Stealth Rogue, Shojodoji

Not only was this ride line the most used by X-1 players, it was also the most used ride line overall. In addition, it also has the highest win rate among the ride lines used by X-1 players, and thus, we will be implementing the following restrictions.

Restricted to 1: Stealth Fiend, Izasaou

Grand March of Full Bloom, Lianorn

While this ride line was the 2nd most used by X-1 players and was the 4th most used overall, its win rate is lower than the other ride lines under consideration. Thus, we will not be implementing any restrictions at this time, and will continue to monitor how it performs in future tournaments.

V Premium Format

As there have been no major tournaments for V Premium format since the last update, there are no updates this time.

Premium Format

While we have observed a healthy variety of decks being used in BCS 24/25 Regional Qualifier tournaments, there are some clans that have seen greater success than others, that were the main focus of consideration for this update.

・Megacolony
・Nubatama
・Neo Nectar

Megacolony

As the 2nd most used clan by X-1 players despite being only the 6th most used clan overall, which ties in with the exceptional win rate it has achieved, we have decided to implement the following restriction as a curb on how it performs as a control on the tournament scene.

Restricted to 2: Guilty Empress, Darkface Gredora

Nubatama

As the most used clan by X-1 players, and an impressive win rate that shows why that is so, it is a prime candidate for restriction given its presence among the top decks. However, with the release of the Stride Decksets in January 2025, we will be observing how the tournament scene changes before deciding on the restrictions to be implemented in the next update.

Neo Nectar

While it is the most used clan overall and the 3rd most used clan by X-1 players, it does not have a comparable win rate to the other clans that were considered for this update. And with the potential for changes to the tournament scene with the previously mentioned Stride Deckset releases, we will be monitoring how it performs in future tournaments for consideration in the next update.

The next update for the Cardfight!! Vanguard Fighter’s Rules will take place in April 2025.
※There may be unscheduled emergency updates should the situation require it.

We ask for your understanding as we work to improve our regulation of the tournament scene, and thank all players for your support for Bushiroad and Cardfight!! Vanguard.
